Power Press FAQ
What is the difference between a CNC power press and a traditional mechanical press?
The differences between CNC power press and ordinary mechanical power press are as follows:
The speed of an ordinary mechanical punching machine is slow, an ordinary punching machine is only under 200 strokes/minute, while CNC punching machine is generally about 3-800 strokes/minute.
The precision of an ordinary mechanical punching machine is average, while the precision of CNC punching machine is high, and the precision can reach 0.01mm.
Ordinary mechanical punches are generally very cheap, a common tonnage ordinary punch is between a few thousand dollars and 20,000 dollars, while a CNC punch is generally between 10,000 and 80,000 dollars. The budget for a CNC punch can buy 2-3 ordinary mechanical punches with the same impact, and some even more.
Ordinary mechanical punching machines can only do simple up and down punching movements, which can be controlled by hand or foot; while CNC punching machines can be controlled by the display screen or manually.
Ordinary mechanical punching machines have no safety devices and are prone to danger; CNC punching machines have photoelectric protection devices and servo motors. As long as the hand enters the protection zone, the machine will automatically stop working.
6. Cost-performance ratio
Ordinary mechanical punching machines are suitable for processing some products with low added value. Generally, they cannot be automated. They can only be manually operated and the speed is slow. However, CNC punching machines can be automated and can be mass-produced, saving a lot of labour costs a year. In the long run, they are still servo punching machines. Cost-effective.
What is power press used for?
The use of the power press is very wide, the power press is to punch the sheets. Through the mold, it can make blanking, punching, forming, deep drawing, trimming, fine blanking, shaping, riveting and extrusion parts, etc., which are widely used in various fields.
What is the automatic feeding equipment for power press?
Power press automatic feeding device refers to the equipment that cooperates with the punch to achieve automatic feeding, such as NC servo feeder, 3-in-1 feeder, left and right yaw feeder, roller feeder, leveller, material rack, etc.
The automatic punch feeder is easy to operate and has high precision. As long as the feed is set on the touch screen during operation, the servo system automatically determines the feed length for each time according to the preset value. The operator only needs to watch whether the machine is working normally, and does not need to adjust each time.
The PLC system controls the automatic feeding action, automatic clamping action and automatic cutting action. The use of this machine can greatly reduce the labour intensity of the operator and improve production efficiency.
What is a pneumatic power press?
Pneumatic power press are also called pneumatic presses, pneumatic punches, air presses, and air presses. Pneumatic punching presses use the high-pressure gas generated by the compressor to deliver the compressed gas to the solenoid valve through the pipeline and use the foot switch to control the action of the solenoid valve to control the work and return of the cylinder, so as to achieve the purpose of punching.
What is mechanical power press?
Mechanical punching machine, also known as mechanical power press, is that the piston is driven to the main shaft to make the main shaft move downward, thereby forming an impulsive force, to produce a prescribed deformation in the mold, so as to process the products.
What are types of power press?
According to the frame type: C-type (open type) power press and closed type punch. Medium and small machines use C-type frames, while medium and large machines use closed frame designs.
According to pressurization capacity: pressurization capacity is the maximum pressure that the punching machine can safely produce during processing, expressed in tons (T). There are 25T, 40T, 63T...etc.
According to the source of power: there are mechanical punching machines and pneumatic power presses.
